2023 has been an insane year for AI growth. Every time I scroll my YouTube feeds there’s a new AI tool, or a new prompt that does something totally mind blowing. Which in turn, makes the digital landscape more competitive than ever.

Now that I’ve spent some time using the software, I have to say, there’s a lot to like about it. Sure, it’s not 100% spot on everytime, but it’s certainly worth using.

For the most part, is was dead on, and immediately picked up that it was AI generated content.

There was one scenario that I tested, which I’ll talk about further in the article that was a total miss – but we’ll come back to that shortly.

So you can see from a few tests about using AgilityWriter and KoalaWriter/KoalaChat that Origanality nailed it every time. There was however one use case where I had some mixed results. The final test I ran was me summarising an article, 100% human-written, short-form content – 300+ characters).

My theory around why it determined it was AI content was the fact that I asked ChatGPT to read 5 articles and summarise them into one. I then memorized points from that information, read some other news articles, closed the window, and then wrote from my own perspective.

Maybe I memorized too many of those points and they way they were written, and that’s why it determined it was AI? or Maybe I’m actually a robot and the matrix has taken over. Hard to say I guess? 😉

Reduce False Positives: The Promise of Originality.ai

Originality.ai promises to reduce false positives, which means fewer instances of false alarms when the tool flags content as AI-generated when it’s actually human-written. In my experience, this has proven to be true (so far lol).
